The Refugee Response
"Home is built and secured when like minds and hearts move together decisively and yield real results. In our way, through our organization, we are building this community in Cleveland for those seeking refuge. We hope that they can again find a home for themselves and their families and through this we can also have a greater appreciation for what we have and work to continually protect and strengthen our home."

Refresh Collective
"Our project-based hip-hop-in-action programs motivate, educate, and activate students in personal and community development. The start-to-finish builds creativity, confidence, and character while achieving educational benchmarks and standards.
Students learn skills in digital music composition, lyric writing, recording arts, and public performance. Enriching experiences and critical thinking about our surroundings provide a baseline for youth voice to emerge. Their music and message develop through collaboration with other students and guidance from professional community change recording artists. Through the creative, song writing process, students express experiences, perspectives, problems and solutions. We listen carefully to what students are saying and give them opportunities to create fresh action, such as planting new neighborhood gardens, tasting the fresh food, silk screening our own t-shirts, and writing songs that promote our neighborhood farmer's market." http://www.freshcamp.org |

Recess ClevelandRecess Cleveland aims to increase public participation, stimulate emotional growth, and promote physical activity by throwing pop up recess events in areas lacking positive environments for recreation.
It’s fun for the whole family! Recess Cleveland events start with ‘old-school recess’ – we show up at an empty lot in the city and spread out our equipment (Frisbees, ‘Skip its’, hula hoops, etc.). Members of the community, previous event attendees, even random folks just walking down the street, are all invited to play! Once we have enough players, we start the team games, including Capture the Flag, Football, Dodgeball and the hilarious new sport, Bubble Soccer! http://recesscleveland.com |
Birthing Beautiful Communities
We are a team of community members trained as doulas and perinatal birth workers who provide education and support to expecting mothers. We specialize in a range of services to assist pregnant women from prenatal stage and beyond. In order to ensure the success of the baby, we must give mothers the tools to create that platform, while supporting them. Birthing Beautiful Communities is designed to uplift and inspire communities through babies. We strive to eliminate infant mortality through community education, advocacy, support and engagement using a holistic approach. We train women to become community based doulas and employ them to support pregnant women in their own neighborhoods.
